A beautiful doe that passed too soon. We have retained 4 kids from Bettine, kept from her 2nd and 3rd freshenings. My biggest regret is not having earned her milking star for I am certain she would have achieved it easily. She was also the heaviest milking LaMancha we have owned to date; again, I wish we had properly evaluated and measured her milk output—she was producing much more than 12 pounds a day in her 3rd lactation.

Old Goose. Funny, none of us can remember exactly where the odd moniker came from but we have been calling her Goose for as long as we can remember. She was very true to her type and carried kids like a breeze. She passed on at age 7 after a hard labor and gave us 2 gorgeous does (her only ones) to remember her by. We are eager to see little Dodo and Halcyon grow and mature as they are looking more and more like their dam with every passing day.

It's embarrassing to admit, we purchased Snapdragon solely because of his flashy coloring (before we had a goal in mind with our breeding program) but it ended up being highly serendipitous, as he's proven to be an exceptional sire by putting body and adding milk to all of his offspring and giving Kingsgoat our very first champions. He has definitely contributed to the character of our LaMancha herd more than his predecessor and has helped define what type of dairy goats we're breeding for. He's a good old boy that has found his permanent home with us.

Xin Xin is a special doe in that she reached her efflorescence at a later age; it wasn't until she turned 8 that Xin Xin began to really stand out from the rest of the Alpines and she seems to only be getting better with age. She has earned many 1st placings and 2 of her legs.
The picture above is her in 2016, at 9 years of age.

Zeke is an exceptionally long Alpine (compared to what we're use to, anyway) measuring from withers to pin bones at 37 inches and almost 5 feet if you include her neck and head. The photo above is her on her second freshening. We are look forward to watching her mature and see the type of kids she produces.

Snowy has always been special as she gave us a leading placement at our very first show and went on to win reserve junior grand champion. In a way, she single-handedly motivated us to try and breed for better rather than focus solely on milk yield.

Snowy freshened for us with an udder that went from good in her first freshening to stunning by her third. Snowy is just another one of those Snapdragon kids that takes their time to blossom and with results like these, we don't mind the wait!
